Why restring your racket: Most obviously if a string has broken. However, restringing a racket helps to boost the feel and performance of your game.

When should I restring my racket: Generally every 3/4 months but depends how often you play. You can often see that the strings are wearing thin and about to break. Or the strings lose some tension over time.

Which string should I use: Many companies make squash strings but by far the two most popular are Tecnifibre and Ashaway. In my opinion, Tecnifibre tends to be more powerful but Ashaway has more grip and feel to it. Karakal strings are more similar to Tecnifibre in that is quite a powerful string and comes in some really vibrant colours for a cool look on court.

It is worth trying different strings. They can make a significant difference to the way the ball reacts off the strings.

What tension should I string the racket: I usually string squash rackets at 27Ibs but again it is worth trying tensions 2-3 Ibs either side of that to see what feels best for your game.
